Glass Packaging for Skincare and Beauty Brands

Glass remains the reference material for prestige skincare: inert against nearly every formula, impermeable to oxygen, and capable of a weight and clarity that plastic approximates but does not reproduce. Our glass programme covers stock shapes with existing tooling, decorated variants, and private moulds developed from your own design.

Glass Packaging for skincare and beauty brands

Formula compatibility

Type III soda-lime for most skincare, Type I borosilicate where a formula is aggressive or a claim depends on inertness.

Decoration depth

Acid frosting, spray coating, screen printing, hot stamping and embossing, applied and inspected in the same flow as the glass itself.

Honest trade-offs

Glass is heavier and breakable. Where a DTC brand ships high volumes, we will quantify the freight and damage cost before recommending it.

Glass Packaging questions

Material-specific answers, plus the questions every buyer asks. More detail in the MOQ guide and full FAQ.

Most cosmetic glass is Type III soda-lime, which is stable with typical skincare formulas and cost-effective at scale. Type I borosilicate is used where higher chemical resistance or thermal stability is required, at a significantly higher unit cost.

Two routes exist: furnace-coloured glass (amber, green, blue, opal), which requires a large committed volume, and spray coating on clear glass, which allows any Pantone at a far lower quantity. Most brands use coating.

It depends on the specification. Stock containers with labelling start low; custom colour, decoration and moulds raise the minimum. For custom paper boxes the standard minimum order quantity is 5,000 pieces per design, and selected paper box projects may start from a few hundred pieces subject to evaluation of the structure, material, printing method and finishing. Send the item and target quantity and we will quote the real minimum for that exact configuration rather than a generic figure.

Yes — standard samples, decoration samples and pre-production samples. Standard samples are usually available quickly; customised samples are quoted with the project because they require set-up.

Yes, through masterbatch resin colour, spray coating on glass or plastic, or printed colour on cartons. Coating gives full Pantone freedom at a lower minimum; masterbatch is more durable but needs a larger volume.

Yes — silk screen printing, UV printing, hot stamping, embossing and labelling. We will advise which method suits your artwork, substrate and quantity, including minimum legible sizes.
